Do you ever….

Do you ever pretend to make something for the kids just so you can have it yourself?

I do……. All The Time

IMG_3687

I make it, have a little bit, feel grumpy about having to share it with the kids and then feel grumpy about the fact that I gave in and made it in the first place because I haven’t been going to the gym enough lately. It was super yummy though :o)

{The Day After Sunday}

So after the wonderful day I had on Friday I was praying when I woke up on Saturday that I wouldn’t crash but to my utter delight I had a wonderful weekend and as Stacey says

The weekend, to me, is the most blissful of times. Where all who matter most are gathered under one roof. Where, if it's the way of your heart, you worship the one true God. And where, most lovely of all, memories are made & love is shared!

So I am sharing my weekend the stand out parts of our weekend with you if nothing else to remind myself how wonderful it was!

Saturday involved me getting up and making this cute little outfit

for a lovely little girl who was turning one. Then we headed off to help set up the party and celebrate with her family and friends.

Sunday we headed off to our church and then came home for lunch and some very serious competition. The winner of Mario Cart in our house is held in high esteem Open-mouthed smile

The boys also headed out for an “adventure” I love how my boys love spending time with their Daddy and how their Daddy loves investing in them, loving them and having fun with them

While they were out spending time together I got started on this little guy

I did okay today

There are not many days that when they boys are in bed I sit down and can say “You know, I did okay today” but today has been one of those day. Most of the time I feel guilty about the time I haven’t spent with them, or the fact that I growled at them, wasn’t patient enough, was too tired to sit there and constantly play the game that they wanted to play, didn’t have food ready when they wanted it or a list of a billion other faults I find in myself. But today after finishing the school enrolments for next year (still having to get used to the fact that Zac will be in school next year) we came home and

Played with bubbles (is there anything better)

Made yummy cinnamon scrolls with vanilla glaze

I had a healthy and yummy lunch ready before the claims of starvation started. We ate it on the trampoline picnic style in the beautiful sunshine, which turned into an impromptu photo session

I have to admit, I recon these little guys are something special.

While the boys were having quiet time watching a movie I whipped this up for their room

And decided to redecorate their room (exciting!!!!!!)

We worked on some “Fathers Day” gifts for the wonderful Dads in our life (I can’t show you photos because then they will see and that would ruin the suprise)

I didn’t turn into a dragon mother when I found Michael and Zac had trashed my freshly made bed while I was on the phone or when Zachary squeezed out half a bottle of shampoo so he could play with the bubbles on the shower floor during the 2 seconds I was out of the room.

I was organised enough to have my laptop charged and let them choose a DVD to watch during my physio session so they didn’t run around bored making enough noise to make me wish I had left them at home on their own (Don’t call the cops on me I would never ever leave them on their own)

We picked up some fish and chip and had another picnic (on the living room floor) for dinner before Dad got home and turned green from the smell of fish in the house. Louis can’t eat seafood and even the smell make him feel ill so its a massive treat in our house.

And to top the day off I got the boys into bed on time, with no fuss!

A rather successful day in my books, it wasn’t perfect but I am trying to learn not to expect perfection from myself and just to do the best I can. Today was one of the days where I did the best I could and honestly felt like I did okay so I am chalking that up for a win!

Brothers….

Its quite rare for me to copy something exactly as I find it. Normal I take bits and pieces of different things and put them together to make something perfect for me. But today I found something that just tugged at my heartstrings here and decided that my little men needed on of their own for their bedroom wall so a few minutes later this

is now hanging on my boys wall. I hope that in the future they take this message to heart.

Beauty

So a few years ago my parents gave me this as one of my Christmas presents

IMG_3428

It’s a standing joke, how bad I am at gardening. But even with the penchant for killing plants I still managed to help this little beauty bloom

IMG_3429

Its has reminded me that even though we might not be perfect at something. The effort that we put in can reap some beautiful rewards

My Creative Space

Have been working on ideas for Two Princes this week. Here is a look at what I have done

I love this fabric and didn’t want to make something with it that would loose the very cool monkeys so I decided to make these Clean Bum Wallets, which fit a travel pack of wipes and a couple of nappies that you can pop in your purse.

A little guy in my house has already declared himself in love with this little guy, designed by Melly & Me so I am busy making another one today for him.

I am considering adding these to my range but haven’t decided yet. What do you think?

I’m still here

Just popping in to say that I am still alive I’m just not posting about it Smile

I have been rather busy doing a lot of sewing for Two Princes (check it out here) but avoiding posting anything because there is something on my heart to share but its really heavy and I am not sure I am ready for it or brave enough at the moment.

Do you ever feel like that? What do you when you feel that you need strength to just get through the day?
